Pretty Fifty – Tips, Style and fashion for women over 50

Pretty Fifty is a blog aimed to women over 50 and discusses issues related to fifty plus women: Career, fashion, health, family , relationships, and recreation.

This blog was created out of necessity and lack of sites designated for women in this particular age group, women that are often at the crossroads of their life. Personally I feel that this is a stage in life that the rest of the world failed to notice. If I’m looking for fashion that fits my age all I can find is clothing too young or too old.

I wonder, are you, like me, looking for age-appropriate sports activities and find murderous Zumba on one hand or geriatric Taitz’i on the other? (apologies to all Taitz’i fans).

Are you looking for your soul mate, or want to enrich and deepen the intimacy in your existing relationship? Do you feel distraught and overwhelmed with the vast information on the internet?

To tell you the truth , if I wasn’t  engaged in online business  for the last 20 years, I assume that like my fifty something friends I wouldn’t have understood those mambo jumbos and  murmurs of all those technological savvy young wizards around me.

So I decided to set up a blog for women over 50, beautiful and amazing that we are, with life experiences and wisdom but also with sensitivity, excitement and enthusiasm. Yes! Still.

This blog is an international blog for women aged 50 or older from around the world. I believe that we all live in a global village, feel the same about ourselves, our families and our careers and basically understand each other.

I am here to contribute my personal experience and give you some tips in clear and simple language about online marketing, fashion, lifestyle, relationship and more. I’m looking forward to hearing from you and talking to you over a virtual coffee or tea (or a margarita)

This is the place to hang out for a good company , sharing pleasurable activities , receive recommendations about fashion that works for us, not too young nor too old, to talk about our relationship with the children , spouses and grandchildren and get tips (sometimes funny)  about every aspect of our lives when we are women over 50.

Some words about me:

My name is Talia, I am 60 years old, an entrepreneur with a Masters Degree (for my mom), and I have been an Internet Marketing Consultant for the last 20 years for various types of businesses.  Mother of three grown-up children and a new proud Grandma!

Hi Talia, interesting blog, i am 51yrs old and having serious weight issues. I think its a combination of factors viz. age, hormones etc.
Do you have any advice? This Venus Factor, do you know if its something to consider? Do you know of anyone who has tried this? I would
    appreciate any feedback regarding this.
    Yours Sincerely

From my own experience – a combination of changing completely my nutrition, along with exercises that fit my age (I am 56) helped me reduce about 16 pounds (8 kg). I also had a goal it was the marriage of my son and I wanted to look great. Now I maintain my weight with the same nutrition and healthy food and with regular belly dancing lessons that I started to take, which do amazing things to our body and how we feel about it at this age. I will write a separate post about it. about it.

        Hey Gwen,
I would be happy to have a discussion here in the blog about these issues. There is so much to talk about. The changing relationship with our children, the wisdom and patience that comes with age, our body that is changing … I was lucky to have a group of friends from childhood that we still see each other from time to time. Not long ago, we were at a wedding together. When we left the wedding and went outside we suddenly noticed that we all held the handrail as we walk down the stairs. We looked at each other and burst out laughing.. The conclusion is – have around you people who understand you! You will laugh together and be patient and forgiving about the changing inevitable aging process. This is one of the reasons that I set up this blog
